Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Rackham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Verush Manakain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Rackham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Verush Manakain!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rackham pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Manakain keeps the fight on the outside.

Manakain tries to keep at a distance but Rackham has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rackham lands an elbow that stopped Manakain in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Verush Manakain has been cut.
Manakain misses with a punch on the inside.
Manakain lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Manakain throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rackham lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Manakain backwards.
Manakain trying to stall but Rackham improves his position.
Our sources have told us that Rackham has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Rackham lands a shot to the body.
Manakain swings wildly with an uppercut but Rackham uses good head movement to avoid it.

Manakain successfully pulls guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Manakain is working an open guard so Rackham takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Some wild striking there from Manakain.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Rackham lands a left and a right that send Manakain crashing to the mat, dazed. Rackham thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Manakain is rocked!
Rackham throws a nice looking combination but Manakain bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rackham has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rackham works on Manakain's body with a couple of short punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rackham digs a right hand into Manakain's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Manakain's gas tank.
Rackham lands an elbow inside.

Rackham pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Whack! Rackham lands a heavy head kick that drops Manakain. The ref tackles Rackham to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Manakain was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Jack Rackham!
After winning the bout, Jack Rackham thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
