Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel McGowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richie O Grady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGowen's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Control - Kendrick Lamar. O Grady has chosen (no) Self Esteem as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by McGowen or perhaps it was just good defense by O Grady which made him look bad.
McGowen is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Richie O Grady has been cut.
O Grady closes the distance looking to clinch
and McGowen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
No joy there for McGowen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McGowen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt O Grady.
McGowen shoots in looking for a takedown. O Grady tries to sprawl out of it but McGowen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. O Grady manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McGowen lands with a thumping leg kick.

McGowen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. O Grady manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
O Grady is looking to stand up but McGowen isn't so interested in that idea.
McGowen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
O Grady really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGowen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGowen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

McGowen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but O Grady is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
McGowen works to advance to full mount. O Grady defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

O Grady is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The referee warns O Grady that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

McGowen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. O Grady sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and McGowen counters with an inside leg kick.
McGowen digs a good body shot into O Grady's ribs.
McGowen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps O Grady's head backwards.
Gabriel McGowen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGowen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts O Grady as he jumps to the side.

McGowen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging O Grady to the ground. McGowen is now in O Grady's guard.
O Grady is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if O Grady can do anything to dispel that myth.
McGowen pushes down on O Grady's leg and manages to get into half guard.
McGowen is looking to advance position but O Grady won't allow it.
McGowen is trying to control the action in half guard but O Grady is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

O Grady has hold of McGowen's hands but McGowen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gabriel McGowen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
