Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jambe De Bois (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blue Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jambe De Bois!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Blue Jay!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Bois gets caught flat footed, as Jay shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jay with a flurry of punches that miss.
De Bois is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jay postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
De Bois looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jay is one step ahead there.
De Bois has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jay drops back looking for a leg! De Bois is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and De Bois manages to kick Jay off! Jay jumps back into De Bois's guard.

De Bois will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jay stands up over De Bois, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
De Bois not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jay drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and De Bois dives on top into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jay is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blue Jay dominated that round.
That's time! De Bois's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


De Bois throws a right and a left that Jay avoids nicely.
Jay tries for a takedown but De Bois sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
De Bois tries to score with a low kick but Jay moves his leg out of the way.
De Bois uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


It looks like Blue Jay has been cut.
De Bois throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice uppercut there from De Bois.
Jay closes the distance and clinches up with De Bois, looking for a takedown. Jay pushes De Bois against the cage but De Bois circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
De Bois keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jambe De Bois has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blue Jay.
Jay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has De Bois pinned against the cage. De Bois gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jay scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jay working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The strikes coming from Jay are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Jay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but De Bois is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jay looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
De Bois tries to bench press Jay off him but Jay keeps the position.
De Bois is working hard here to advance position.

Jay thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

De Bois tries to escape but Jay is in control.

Jay tries for a kimura but De Bois is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
You can see the frustration on De Bois's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jay is working to tighten his grip on De Bois's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. De Bois has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jay is really squeezing tight and eventually De Bois passes out! Jay breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Blue Jay!
An out of breath Blue Jay thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
