With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ramazan Abdulkerimov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abdulkerimov clinches up against the cage.
Abdulkerimov wants to break free but Orkas has control.
The referee is keeping an eye on Abdulkerimov - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Abdulkerimov is trying to push Orkas away but Orkas has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Sandor Orkas has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Orkas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Orkas has clasped his hands together around Abdulkerimov's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Orkas remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
