Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Mihana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mihana gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mihana scores a nice knee to the body.
Mihana lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Dempsey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mihana pulls his leg out and moves away.

Dempsey shoots in looking for a takedown. Mihana tries to sprawl out of it but Dempsey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mihana manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mihana takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dempsey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mihana is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dempsey asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Jack Dempsey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dempsey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mihana's waist but Mihana gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dempsey off to one side.
