Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Long Mejia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Hagels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Long Mejia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean Hagels!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hagels drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mejia tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mejia trying to control the position.
Hagels trying to control the position from guard on top but Mejia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mejia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hagels wants to stand but Mejia is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hagels won't allow Mejia to get back to his feet.
Mejia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hagels is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hagels wants to stand but Mejia is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Long Mejia.

Hagels shoots in and gets a takedown into Mejia's guard.

Mejia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hagels manages to get himself to full guard.

Hagels has his foot on Mejia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mejia works his way back into a safe position though.

Mejia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Long Mejia just wasn't active enough.
Hagels catches Mejia with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hagels looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hagels drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hagels tries to close the distance and clinch but Mejia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hagels shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hagels was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hagels decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Hagels fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mejia sprawls well initially but Hagels persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hagels bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mejia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hagels closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mejia did well to prevent Hagels getting side control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mejia manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mejia holds on and takes a little breather.
Mejia thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Mejia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hagels can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hagels is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mejia can't fight it off and eventually Hagels manages to take the fight to the floor. Mejia looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hagels is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mejia is just riding it out for now. Hagels eventually gives up the hold.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hagels has control of Mejia's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mejia regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Long Mejia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Hagels has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
