Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tomek Gutzeit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gutzeit might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sobota- Do gory leb. Savage is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bon Jovi - It's my life. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomek Gutzeit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Savage!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage blocks a head kick by Gutzeit.

Savage shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gutzeit is trying to defend but Savage finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gutzeit gets back to full guard.
Savage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gutzeit swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Savage trying to control but Gutzeit is working from the bottom.
Gutzeit is trying to control the position but Savage postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jackson Savage wasn't active enough on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gutzeit enables Savage to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gutzeit manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Savage is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Savage is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Savage sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gutzeit's guard.

Gutzeit wants to control but Savage is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Savage seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Gutzeit has recovered full guard.

Savage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gutzeit is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savage, into his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Savage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gutzeit can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been hearing good reports from Gutzeit's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

After the fight, Jackson Savage was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
