Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baraona tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Baraona with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Baraona lands an elbow that stopped Maguila in his tracks for a moment.
Baraona prevents the takedown attempt.
Baraona tries a knee to the head but Maguila blocks it.
Baraona looking to throw knees to the head but Maguila is blocking nicely.

I was talking to Maguila's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maguila trying to control the position but instead, Baraona has worked for underhooks and has pushed Maguila into the cage.
Baraona using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Maguila has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Maguila takes a knee right on the jaw!

Maguila is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Baraona gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Baraona lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Maguila is rocked!

Baraona creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Maguila with a big uppercut! Maguila tries to clinch up but Baraona pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Maguila to the mat! Maguila covers up and Baraona unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). John Baraona!
John Baraona decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
