PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bat Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Cormeir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cormeir comes into a darkened arena with his song building. -N- The Bay kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Cain Cormeir struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bat Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cain Cormeir!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormeir tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Perry swivels and escapes.
Cormeir shoots for a double leg takedown but Perry sprawls well. He's pushed Cormeir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cormeir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Perry as he jumps to the side.
Bat Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Cormeir.

Cormeir decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cormeir is looking to take a break and control but Perry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
