The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zmertin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Zmertin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doo is trying to escape the mount.
Zmertin moves to back control.
Zmertin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Doo turns into Zmertin and is now in his guard.
Zmertin tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Doo wants to stand but Zmertin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Zmertin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Doo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Doo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Zmertin is proving hard to escape from.
Zmertin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Zmertin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Doo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Zmertin scores with a couple of nice shots.

Zmertin is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Doo is forced to tap! Great finish!
