Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Bansa!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mattus gets a double leg takedown into Bansa's guard.
Mattus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mattus throws a big right hand that misses.
Mattus trying to control but Bansa is working from the bottom.
Mattus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bansa's guard.

Mattus is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mattus is looking to take a break and control but Bansa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mattus thows a huge punch but Bansa dodges it nicely.
Mattus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mattus uses his free foot to push down on Bansa's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bansa.
Mattus tries to control but Bansa wriggling away.

Mattus jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bansa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bansa and Mattus has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
