Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Sanchez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Luigi Marshall's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luigi Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Marshall counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez looking to control.
Sanchez wants to sweep here but Marshall controlling him for the moment.
Marshall is looking to work some ground and pound but Sanchez has wrist control.
Sanchez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Marshall's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Sanchez has his foot on Marshall's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marshall works his way back into a safe position though.
Marshall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Marshall has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanchez is proving hard to escape from.
Marshall postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Marshall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sanchez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Marshall uses it to pass to side control.
Marshall creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sanchez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Marshall is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marshall pinned against the cage. Marshall gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sanchez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sanchez wants it to stay on the feet.

Marshall gets tackled into the cage by Sanchez. Sanchez maintains the clinch.
Sanchez has had enough of the clinch but Marshall keeps him there for the moment.

Sanchez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Marshall uses from the top position.

Sanchez darts in looking for a takedown but Marshall gets double underhooks and turns Sanchez into the cage.

Marshall pushes off an throws an elbow but Sanchez leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nick Sanchez wasn't active enough on the ground.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marshall misses with a short punch on the inside.
Sanchez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Marshall to keep the fight standing.
Sanchez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Marshall walks away with a smile on his face. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Sanchez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Sanchez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marshall circles away.
Marshall shoots and misses
and Sanchez counters with a stiff right hand.

A battle for position here, against the cage.
Sanchez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Marshall pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Marshall has a couple of punches blocked by Sanchez.
A head punch on the inside from Marshall fails to land.

Marshall gets control of Sanchez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Marshall will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Marshall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Sanchez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Marshall haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nick Sanchez.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marshall but Marshall pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Marshall is looking to clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marshall slaps away a takedown attempt from Sanchez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Sanchez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Marshall won't allow it.
Sanchez is looking to break free of the clinch but Marshall has double underhooks.

Marshall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marshall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

I would just about give that final round to Nick Sanchez.
I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
