The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Smith on his heels. He'll look to pass Smith's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Carvalho is now in half guard.
Carvalho is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!

Smith tries to keep at a distance but Carvalho has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Carvalho rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Carvalho has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Carvalho. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Smith has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Carvalho has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Smith should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Carvalho has tightened it up now! Smith should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
