Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Luchador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Luchador has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Steve Sonnen's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen just misses with a punch to the body.
Luchador should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Sonnen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Luchador.

and Luchador counters with a series of strikes. Sonnen will be more careful next time no doubt.
Luchador misses with a hook to the body
and Sonnen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sonnen lands with a nice combination. Luchador backs away looking to recover.

It looks like James Luchador has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sonnen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sonnen misses with a low kick.
Sonnen misses with a double jab.
Sonnen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Luchador back to the cage. Sonnen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Sonnen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sonnen lands an overhand right.
Luchador uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sonnen.
Sonnen lands with a nice combination. Luchador backs away looking to recover.

Sonnen darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Sonnen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sonnen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Luchador counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Luchador throws a jab but it's blocked by Sonnen.

Luchador manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sonnen on his heels. He'll look to pass Sonnen's guard now, I'm sure.

Luchador drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sonnen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Luchador has Sonnen in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sonnen works a leg free and moves into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Luchador is staying active underneath Sonnen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Luchador is trying to stand up here but Sonnen is controlling him well.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Luchador has eaten all the pies!
Luchador is not content to let Sonnen control the position.
Sonnen stops Luchador from getting back to his feet.
Luchador is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Sonnen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Luchador keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Steve Sonnen.
Luchador looks to score with a jab to the body but Sonnen is just out of range.
Sonnen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Steve Sonnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sonnen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Luchador.
Sonnen lands with a nice body punch.
No joy there for Sonnen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Luchador takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sonnen is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Sonnen misses with the combination.
Sonnen throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Luchador colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Sonnen as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Luchador is left battered and dazed whilst Sonnen and his camp cheer!
