Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Estong Kripwalk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Estong Kripwalk enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Estong Kripwalk!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kripwalk closes the distance and clinches.

Kripwalk ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kripwalk no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mann has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kripwalk is proving hard to escape from.

and Mann counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kripwalk's guard now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kripwalk is trying to drag Mann to the mat but Mann just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mann could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Estong Kripwalk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kripwalk lands with a thumping leg kick.

Mann throws a right hand that Kripwalk ducks under and follows up with a left that Kripwalk also avoids with ease.

Kripwalk moves into the clinch.

Mann tightens his grip and picks Kripwalk up, before dumping him to the ground. Kripwalk manages to land in guard.
Mann keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kripwalk's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mann accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kripwalk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kripwalk wants to stand but Mann is controlling the position.
Kripwalk is breathing heavily.

Mann stands and steps away. Kripwalk gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Mann counters with a stiff right hand.
Mann closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kripwalk counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mann's knee momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kripwalk doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Mann counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mann.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mann finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Mann tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kripwalk manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mann is working for a submission of some sort.

Mann is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Kripwalk still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Kripwalk has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Mann might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mann explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Kripwalk goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Kripwalk shoots in for a takedown but Mann shows good takedown defense.

Kripwalk is working for takedown but Mann is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mann's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mann, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
