PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gevorg Petrosyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petrosyan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by No Turning Back - Stand and Fight. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gevorg Petrosyan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Gevorg Petrosyan!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harris decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Harris's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Petrosyan trying to control from the bottom.
Petrosyan pushes Harris off looking to stand but Harris dives back in and keeps control.
Harris is controlling the pace.

Harris seems to be working for a kimura but Petrosyan defends the submission attempt.
Petrosyan won't allow Harris to pass to mount.

Harris is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Petrosyan defends it well.
Petrosyan has hold of Harris's hands but Harris slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Harris is looking for a kimura but Petrosyan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Harris to get the leverage.

Harris is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Petrosyan still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Petrosyan has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Harris is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Petrosyan off and has taken his back!

Harris looking to break Petrosyan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Petrosyan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Harris will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Harris is working for a rear naked choke. Petrosyan is not defending it well and Harris has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Petrosyan refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Petrosyan's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Paul Harris!
