PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walker Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vaughn is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walker Reilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Viktor Vaughn!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vaughn clinches up with Reilly and pushes him back against the cage.
Reilly misses with the head strike.
The referee is keeping an eye on Reilly - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Reilly is looking to break free of the clinch but Vaughn has double underhooks.
Reilly is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Vaughn has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Reilly clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Reilly is in bad spot here.
Reilly wants to get back to his feet.
Vaughn is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Vaughn gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vaughn gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vaughn apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Vaughn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reilly to the mat! Reilly manages to get full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reilly throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Reilly punching from the bottom - just letting Vaughn know he's still in a fight.
Vaughn tries to stand but Reilly is controlling from the bottom.

Reilly throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Vaughn trying to control but Reilly is working from the bottom.
Vaughn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Vaughn distracts Reilly with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vaughn connects with a couple of short punches.
Reilly wants to stand and escape but Vaughn is having none of it.
Vaughn wants to control from the top but Reilly keeps moving.
Vaughn stops Reilly from standing up.
Vaughn pushing down on Reilly's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Vaughn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Vaughn winds up and cracks Reilly with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Vaughn seems to be looking for submissions.
Vaughn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reilly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Vaughn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Reilly is defending against the submission attempts here by Vaughn.

Vaughn tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vaughn works his way into full mount!
Reilly is desperately trying to improve his position but Vaughn has a good base and remains in mount.
Vaughn controlling from the full mount.
Vaughn tries to control but Reilly wriggling away.
Reilly is looking to improve his position but Vaughn isn't that keen on the idea.
Reilly is trying to stand.

Reilly is wriggling around trying to escape.

Vaughn looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Vaughn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Reilly looks a forlorn figure.
Reilly working to try and regain half guard.
Vaughn lands a nice shot to the head.
BOOM! Vaughn connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Vaughn lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Vaughn looking to control but Reilly is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Vaughn lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reilly hang on?
Reilly squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reilly bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Reilly is breathing heavily.
Vaughn looking to control.

Vaughn is looking for a triangle here but Reilly uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Reilly is trying to get an arm triangle but Vaughn is defending well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vaughn gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Viktor Vaughn dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Vaughn darts in and clinches Reilly up against the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Vaughn manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Vaughn looking to control but Reilly passes into half guard.
Vaughn is looking to control Reilly's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vaughn avoid being mounted?
Vaughn gets back to full guard.

Vaughn wants to get back to his feet but Reilly is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Vaughn has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Vaughn looking for a sweep. Not yet Vaughn, not yet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Viktor Vaughn wasn't active enough on the ground.

Vaughn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reilly tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vaughn is in Reilly's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reilly bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vaughn's guard.
Vaughn is looking to sweep but instead, Reilly has passed into half guard.

Reilly seems to be working for a kimura but Vaughn defends the submission attempt.
Vaughn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Reilly's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Reilly's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vaughn has good solid back control here.
Viktor Vaughn has got the better of the ground game so far.
Reilly tries to escape the position.
Reilly holding both Vaughn 's hands and preventing any damage.
Vaughn lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Reilly hold on?!
Vaughn lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Reilly is in bad spot here.

Vaughn working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Vaughn is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Reilly defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Vaughn is landing with strikes. Reilly can't take much more of this.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vaughn lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Vaughn.
Reilly tries to escape the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Vaughn controlling the positon.
Reilly prevents Vaughn from getting a body triangle.
The referee is taking a good look at Reilly as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Vaughn!

Vaughn is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Reilly has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Vaughn's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vaughn lands punches and elbows.
Vaughn controlling well, preventing Reilly from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Viktor Vaughn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Reilly gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vaughn to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Reilly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vaughn is controlling him.
Vaughn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reilly is keeping the position for now.
Vaughn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Reilly has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vaughn off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Vaughn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reilly on his heels. He'll look to pass Reilly's guard now, I'm sure.
Reilly manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vaughn manages to get himself to full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reilly looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Vaughn wants to stand and escape but Reilly is having none of it.
Reilly looking to sit in guard and control but Vaughn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Vaughn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vaughn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Reilly wants to stand and escape but Vaughn is having none of it.
Vaughn throws a big right hand that misses.
Vaughn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reilly is keeping the position for now.
Reilly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Reilly escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vaughn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vaughn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Reilly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vaughn is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Reilly is trying to keep Vaughn in close.
Reilly wants to sweep here but Vaughn controlling him for the moment.
Vaughn lands a couple of digs.
Reilly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vaughn is controlling him.
Vaughn forces his way into half guard.
Reilly taking some punishment here, with Vaughn in his half guard.
Vaughn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Reilly is looking to escape.
Vaughn is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Vaughn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Reilly defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Vaughn.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vaughn lands a big shot to the head and Reilly winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Viktor Vaughn!
Viktor Vaughn was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
