The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson has his takedown stuffed
and Mendez counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Mendez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mendez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
Mendez throws a shot from downtown. Johnson moves away and avoids it.
Johnson looks to land a combination but Mendez avoids it well.
Mendez scores with a decent looking hook.
Mendez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mendez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away.
Mendez shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson misses with a leg kick
and Mendez counters with a straight right hand.
Mendez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.
Mendez tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson moves to clinch but Mendez breaks away
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Johnson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Oooh a lovely combination from Johnson sends Mendez down but not out. Johnson dives into side control looking to finish.
Mendez is rocked!
It looks like Omer Mendez has been cut.

Johnson crunches a massive hammerfist down on Mendez - he's out! Johnson Holds back on further strikes and jumps to his feet to celebrate with the crowd!
