Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Rothko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Greg Dixon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Greg Dixon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Rothko !
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rothko enables Dixon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rothko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Dixon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dixon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dixon postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Dixon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rothko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dixon has managed to get both his arms back between Rothko 's legs - danger averted.
Dixon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rothko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dixon won't allow Rothko to sweep him here.
Dixon is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Nonprofit Vegas Elite $1000 value that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Dixon content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Dixon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dixon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Rothko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dixon counters with a left to the body.
Rothko tries for a takedown but Dixon circles away easily
and Dixon counters with a nice leg kick.
Greg Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Rothko .
Rothko looks for a takedown but Dixon sprawls well.

Dixon wants to control from the top but Rothko keeps moving.

Dixon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dixon stalks Rothko and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rothko 's face. Rothko staggers backwards, shaken.

Dixon gets a takedown into half guard.
Dixon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Dixon is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Rothko is trying to control but Dixon manages to pass to mount!

Rothko wants to hold on but Dixon pushes him away.
Rothko is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Dixon breaks from Rothko 's wrist control and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dixon lands a big shot there that rocks Rothko but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Rothko is rocked!
Dixon lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Rothko is still in real trouble! Can Dixon finish him?

After winning the bout, Greg Dixon thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
