Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zeke McCabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cable Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carson misses with an uppercut
and McCabe counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Carson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCabe manages to avoid it.
Cable Carson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A big right from Carson misses.

Carson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McCabe napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
McCabe tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Carson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
McCabe is trying to improve his position.

Carson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carson lands a nice forearm strike.
McCabe regains half guard.
Carson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McCabe's head.

Carson cracks McCabe with a big right hand but McCabe just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Carson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at McCabe to see if he's OK.

Carson controls the position from side control.
McCabe is looking for a sweep.
Carson lands a few punches from side control.
Carson staying calm.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carson cracks McCabe with a big right hand but McCabe just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

McCabe manages to work his way to half guard, despite Carson's best efforts.
Carson wants to lay and pray for a moment but McCabe keeps working.

McCabe is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Carson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Carson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Carson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McCabe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carson tries to pass the half guard into mount. McCabe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
McCabe is staying active underneath Carson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A looping hook to the body misses from Carson. McCabe does a little dance to reset his feet.
Carson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McCabe.
McCabe defending well as Carson loads up on a big left hand.
McCabe throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
McCabe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carson's waist but Carson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCabe off to one side.

Carson feints and as McCabe raises his hands in defense, Carson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

McCabe wants to control but Carson is keeping busy.

McCabe is looking to improve his position but Carson isn't that keen on the idea.

Carson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McCabe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carson wants to take a breather but McCabe is having none of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cable Carson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
McCabe moves out of range as Carson strikes.
McCabe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carson throws out the jab.

and McCabe counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Carson!
Carson is trying to control McCabe's posture but McCabe avoids it.
McCabe has control of an arm but Carson manages to advance to McCabe's back!

Carson is landing with strikes. McCabe can't take much more of this.
McCabe is taking damage to the body and head.
Cable Carson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Carson is riding his opponent, not letting McCabe buck him off.
McCabe tries to escape but Carson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cable Carson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McCabe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McCabe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carson pulls his head out easily.

McCabe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carson is working away from the top position though.

McCabe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
