Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hussey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Smith's choice of entrance music: Smoke the Fire. Michael Hussey had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hussey throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hussey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.
Smith fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hussey.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hussey circles away.
Hussey fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

A swing and a miss from Hussey.

Smith shoots in but no luck this time.

Smith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hussey did well to prevent Smith getting side control.
Hussey is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Madz , so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
