Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Percy Whitley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Grout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Grout acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whitley is trying to trip Grout. He has hold of a leg but Grout is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Whitley persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Percy Whitley will probably get the nod.

Whitley clinches up with Grout and pushes him back against the cage.
Grout is pressed up against the cage. Whitley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Grout down to the mat. Grout avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Grout shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Whitley pinned against the cage. Whitley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Grout has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Whitley uses from the top position.

Whitley lands a couple of good shots and Grout has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Grout really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Whitley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Whitley is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Grout with him. Grout is trying to defend but Whitley has an arm under the chin now! Grout grimaces and is forced to tap out!
