Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Eugene Carl Alexander Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Milos Petrasek!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petrasek shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Petrasek was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Petrasek is looking to take a break and control but Burns is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Petrasek decides to stand up, so the ref orders Burns to his feet.

and Burns counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Burns.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petrasek can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Petrasek looks like he's trying to stand up.
Burns wants to stand up but Petrasek has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Petrasek tries to kick Burns off but Burns keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Petrasek wants to get back to full guard but Burns has mounted him!

Petrasek tries to hold on but Burns postures up.
Burns is looking to stand but Burns has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Burns controlling the pace for now.
Petrasek wants to hold on but Burns pushes him away.

Petrasek is trying to escape the mount.
Burns avoids the attempt from Petrasek to control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Burns prevents Petrasek from getting the reversal.
Petrasek tries to hold on but Burns pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Petrasek is trying desperately to improve position.

That's time! Burns's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Burns throws a shot from downtown. Petrasek moves away and avoids it.

Petrasek closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Burns quickly recovers to half guard.
Petrasek is looking to take a break and control but Burns is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Petrasek wants to free his trapped foot but Burns is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Burns is staying active underneath Petrasek, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Petrasek decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Petrasek shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Burns's guard.

Petrasek stands up and waves to Burns to follow him.
Petrasek keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Burns misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Petrasek.
Petrasek tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Petrasek is breathing heavily.
Petrasek throwing strikes but Burns manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burns wants to stand but Petrasek has his arm trapped.
Petrasek wants to control but Burns postures up.
Petrasek tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Burns easily slips into full mount!
Petrasek really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Petrasek keeps trying to improve his position.
Burns is looking to stand but Burns has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Petrasek is looking to improve his position but Burns isn't that keen on the idea.
Milos Petrasek has got the better of the ground game so far.
Burns wants to get back to his feet but Petrasek is holding on tight.

Milos Petrasek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Petrasek throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Burns tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Petrasek is in Burns's guard.
Petrasek wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving.
Petrasek with a flurry of punches that miss.
Burns can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Petrasek controls the pace.

Milos Petrasek has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Petrasek shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Burns is trying to defend but Petrasek finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Petrasek is looking to stall here but Burns recovers full guard.
Burns bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Petrasek's guard.
Burns tries to stand but Petrasek is controlling from the bottom.

Petrasek wants to stand but Burns is controlling the position.

Petrasek has his foot on Burns's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burns works his way back into a safe position though.
Petrasek takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Petrasek is pulling down on Burns's head. It's preventing any offense from Burns, at least for the moment.
Burns might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Burns wants to get up but he can't break Petrasek's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Petrasek is trying to hold Burns in close to prevent damage but Burns has managed to pass into half guard.
It looks like Burns is going to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Petrasek is trying to stand back up but Burns is controlling him

The ref stands the fighters back up. Milos Petrasek was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Petrasek closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Burns did well to prevent Petrasek getting side control.
Burns keeping hold of Petrasek's head, controlling as best he can.
Burns gets full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Milos Petrasek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Petrasek has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
