PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between King Marvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marvin comes into the arena with King of Kings by Motorhead blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Mathers's choice of entrance music: Superman. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, King Marvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 4, fighting out of Tokyo, Marshall Mathers!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marvin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mathers's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

We've been hearing good reports from Marvin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Mathers clobbers Marvin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Marvin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mathers connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Marvin scrambles back to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to King Marvin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marvin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
