The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tech clinches.
Simenkov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tech is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Simenkov throws an elbow that misses. Tech uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Simenkov's guard. Nice move by Tech!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tech accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tech stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Simenkov tries to circle away but Tech has him pinned against the cage.
Simenkov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tech is defending well for now.
Simenkov has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tech is trying to keep an underhook but Simenkov manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Simenkov is looking to stall here but Tech recovers full guard.
Tech bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Simenkov's guard.

Tech tries to escape but Simenkov has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Tech is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Simenkov misses with a punch to the head.
Tech is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Simenkov gets his way!
Simenkov has the hooks in. Tech is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Sergei Simenkov will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Tech feints and as Simenkov raises his hands in defense, Tech changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Simenkov is trying to control Tech's posture but Tech avoids it.
Tech wants to lay and pray for a moment but Simenkov keeps working.

Logi Tech has got the better of the ground game so far.

Simenkov tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tech presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Simenkov is trying desperately to improve position.

Tech wants to control the pace but Simenkov is squirming around nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tech is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Simenkov knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Simenkov for a finish.
Tech has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Simenkov has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Tech sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Simenkov taps out!
