PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neil Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Ka Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, El Ka Bong!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bong moves out of range as Down strikes.
Bong's coach down at Finch Farm was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bong's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Down is breathing heavily.
Down dodges the punch combination from Bong.
Bong throws a shot from downtown. Down moves away and avoids it.
Down uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bong.
Bong misses with a series of wild punches.
Bong shoots in looking for a takedown. Down tries to sprawl out of it but Bong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Down manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bong throws a right and a left that Down avoids nicely.
A slow jab from Bong misses its intended target.
Bong throws a hook but Down avoids it easily.
Bong misses with a wild combination.
Bong misses with a looping right.

Bong staying out of range there.
Bong misses the jab.
Bong throws a predictable looking body shot
and Down counters with a one-two to the body.
Down staying out of range there.
A swing and a miss from Bong.
Down misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bong throws out a loose jab but Down uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bong closes the distance and clinches.
Bong throws a head punch that misses.
Bong should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Down manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Down preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bong not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Bong drops back looking for a leg! Down is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Down manages to kick Bong off! Bong jumps back into Down's guard.
Bong trying to control the position from guard on top but Down is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bong drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Bong as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Down screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Bong! Nice submission victory there!
