Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marc Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominus Domi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominus Domi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marc Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dominus Domi!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Callahan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Domi defends it nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Callahan as Domi shoots in.
Domi looks to land a body kick but Callahan moved away.
Domi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Callahan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Domi.

Domi clinches with his opponent.

Domi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Callahan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
No luck for Domi with that takedown attempt.
Marc Callahan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominus Domi.
Domi closes the distance and clinches up with Callahan, looking for a takedown. Domi pushes Callahan against the cage but Callahan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Callahan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Callahan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Domi defends well and Callahan ends up having to push Domi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Callahan is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Domi is trying to pull guard but Callahan has him pressed against the cage.
Domi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Callahan walks away with a smile on his face. Domi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Domi tries to clinch but Callahan moves away

and Callahan counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Domi!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Domi wants to control but Callahan postures up.

Domi is trying to get back to his feet.
Domi can't do much from the bottom here.
Domi is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Callahan is staying active.
Callahan throws an elbow but Domi slips to the side and avoids it well.
Domi is trying to control Callahan's posture but Callahan avoids it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dominus Domi wasn't active enough on the ground.
Domi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Callahan has a takedown stuffed.
Domi leaves Callahan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Domi shoots in and drives through. Callahan sprawls well.
Domi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Callahan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Domi tries to avoid it but Callahan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Domi to the ground. Domi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Domi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Domi shoots in for a double leg but Callahan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Domi stuffs the takedown.
Dominus Domi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Callahan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Domi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Callahan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Domi quickly recovers to half guard.

Callahan is working for a kimura but Domi is defending it quite comfortably.
Domi flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marc Callahan will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Domi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Callahan as he jumps to the side.
Domi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Callahan defends it nicely.
Callahan darts in looking for a takedown but Domi gets double underhooks and turns Callahan into the cage.
Callahan throws an elbow that misses.

Callahan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Domi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Callahan defends well and Domi ends up having to push Callahan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Callahan is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Domi sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Domi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Callahan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Domi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Callahan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Domi is positioning himself well to prevent Callahan advancing to mount.
Domi is looking for a sweep. Callahan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Callahan is looking for a kimura but Domi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Callahan to get the leverage.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Callahan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Domi circles away.

Callahan seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Domi is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Domi has Callahan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Callahan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Domi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Callahan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Callahan is in close to Domi's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Callahan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

BOOM! Callahan connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Marc Callahan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Callahan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
