PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chev Chelios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dc Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Chelios might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to In Waves. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gable throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Chelios does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Gable staying out of range there.
Gable is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Dc Gable has been cut.
Chelios misses with a kick to the body.
Gable looks to score with a jab to the body but Chelios is just out of range.
Chelios swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chelios tries to clinch up.
Chelios is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gable.
Chelios takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Chelios jabs Gable right on the nose. Gable blinks but takes it well.
Gable connects with a single shot there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gable has taken the fight to the clinch.

Gable swings wildly with an uppercut but Chelios uses good head movement to avoid it.

Gable lands a nice uppercut.

Chelios is trying to break the clinch but Gable has him pressed against the ropes.

Gable has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Gable pushes Chelios up against the ropes in a clinch.
Gable tries to throw a body punch but Chelios avoids it by throwing Gable back against the ropes.
Chelios lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Chelios misses with a hook from the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chelios throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Chelios's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Chelios tries to clinch up but Gable circles away and keeps his distance.
Gable takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Chelios misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gable.
Chelios looks to throw the jab but Gable is out of range.

Chelios connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gable momentarily.
Chelios slips a straight right by Gable.

Chelios walks into a stiff left hand from Gable.
Chelios looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gable showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Chelios.

Gable moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.
Chelios has a couple of punches blocked by Gable.
Chelios fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Gable takes a shot to the head.
Chelios blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Chelios gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Gable is still on wobbly legs! Can Chelios finish him?
Chelios lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Gable to his knees! Chelios keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
