Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Wagner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alden Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alden Ho is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Wagner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alden Ho!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagner shoots in for a double leg but Ho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wagner closes the distance looking to clinch

and Ho counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ho.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ho won't allow Wagner to get back to his feet.
Wagner lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ho!
Ho wants to try and get back to his feet.
Wagner unloads with some shots from mount but Ho bucks and avoids them well.
Wagner throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Wagner misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Ho wants to try and get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wagner working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Ho slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Wagner wants to stand up but Ho has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Ho is defending against the submission attempts here by Wagner.
Ho regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Wagner.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wagner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ho uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ho keeps the fight on the outside.
Wagner misses with a head kick.
Wagner misses with a takedown attempt

and Ho counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ho wants to control from the top but Wagner keeps moving.
Ho throwing strikes from guard but Wagner blocks nicely.

Ho throws an elbow that misses. Wagner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ho's guard. Nice move by Wagner!
Wagner throws a strike but Ho rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ho missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Ho scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wagner wants to stand and escape but Ho is having none of it.
Wagner keeping moving, preventing Ho from controlling successfully.

Ho sitting in guard here, content to control.
Wagner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Wagner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Daniel Wagner.

Ho shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ho showed some decent athleticism there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ho content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alden Ho dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wagner wants to clinch up but Ho keeps it at a distance.

Ho displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wagner.
Wagner has a takedown stuffed.
Wagner looks for a takedown but Ho sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Wagner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ho takes a kick to the side of the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wagner is defended easily by Ho.
Daniel Wagner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wagner tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Ho counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ho drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ho has Wagner pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ho pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wagner tumbling to the mat - Ho dives into Wagner's guard.

Wagner is looking for a triangle but Ho pushes his legs off easily.

Ho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wagner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alden Ho has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ho works over Wagner with some ground and pound from guard.
Ho postures up in Wagner's guard and throws a big left but Wagner blocks it.
Ho throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ho accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ho controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ho preventing the sweep.
Ho trying to control the position from guard on top but Wagner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alden Ho was stalling too much, according to the referee.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wagner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Wagner scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Ho bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ho is chipping away with strikes.
Ho throwing strikes but Wagner manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Ho is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Wagner swings around for an armbar but Ho sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Wagner's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ho loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Ho is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alden Ho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Wagner throws a low kick, looking for Ho's leg but Ho calmly moves out of range.

Ho gets the takedown into side control.

Ho wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wagner, who protects the arm well.
Ho lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Ho scoring with punches and elbows.
Ho connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Wagner some visible discomfort.


Wagner is rocked!
Ho landing strikes.
Oh Wagner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wagner is looking to regain half guard here but Ho keeps moving and retains side control.
Ho cracks Wagner with an elbow. That is naaassty.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ho lands a strong strike to the head of Wagner. That's dazed him! Ho looking to finish here. Wagner is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Ho lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alden Ho!
