Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denis Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Denis Kang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alex Rua's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua with a jab.
Rua throws a solid leg kick but Kang takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Rua.

Rua closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rua lands in his opponent's guard.
Kang keeping full guard, as Rua tries to pass.

Kang wants to get back to his feet but Rua is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kang wants to stand and escape but Rua is having none of it.

Kang has hold of Rua's hands but Rua slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Kang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rua on the ground.

Rua is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Rua thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rua is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Rua drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rua jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kang is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rua's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rua's back!
Rua manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kang's guard. Nice work there by Rua.

Rua trying to control the position from guard on top but Kang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kang tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rua drops back looking for a leg! Kang is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kang manages to kick Rua off! Rua jumps back into Kang's guard.
Kang utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rua lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rua postures up in Kang's guard and throws a big left but Kang blocks it.
Rua won't allow Kang to get back to his feet.

Alex Rua dominated that round.

Kang takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Denis Kang has been cut.
Rua throws a sloppy head kick and Kang moves out of range easily.
Rua pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kang is looking to score with low kicks.
Kang drops his hands momentarily and Rua takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Kang moves into the clinch.

Kang escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kang throws a right and a left that both miss.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rua throws a looping overhand right but Kang ducks down to avoid it.
Kang steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rua.

Rua slips a jab and a cross from Kang.
Rua fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Denis Kang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kang gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rua tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice uppercut there from Rua.

Kang is rocked!
Rua drops Kang with a big left hand! Kang is injured, injured bad! Rua jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
