The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cabrera swivels and escapes.
Cabrera fails with an attempt to clinch.
Martinson darts in looking for a takedown but Cabrera gets double underhooks and turns Martinson into the cage.

Cabrera jumps guard but Martinson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Martinson throws a chopping leg kick but Cabrera manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Cabrera jumps guard but Martinson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Cabrera tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Martinson smiles and moves away.

Cabrera tries to sprawl but Martinson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Martinson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Martinson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cabrera tries to get to full guard but Martinson has control of the leg.
Cabrera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martinson on the ground.
Martinson slips a nice elbow through Cabrera's hands, connecting with Cabrera's forehead.
Martinson wants to stand up but Cabrera has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Martinson uses his free foot to push down on Cabrera's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cabrera.

Cabrera is looking to improve his position but Martinson isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martinson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Cabrera to take his back!
Martinson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Martinson controlling the position well here. Cabrera rolled but Martinson kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
