Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Renzo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Otto The Great!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in but The Great avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gracie dives in and grabs The Great's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Great pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The Great has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around The Great's waist but The Great gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
We've been told by Gracie's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
The Great is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with The Great, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes The Great against the cage but The Great circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gracie has The Great pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. The Great manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Great can do anything to dispel that myth.
The Great really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The Great tries to kick Gracie off in order to stand up. Gracie Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The Great is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gracie asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Gracie is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. The Great looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gracie gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. The Great is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gracie lets go of the hold and The Great can pop his arm back in it's socket.
