Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Hurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roberto Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Power!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Power shoots in and gets a takedown into Hurst's guard.
Power is fighting to break Hurst's control of his arms but Hurst is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hurst wants to get back to his feet but Power is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hurst is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Power is aware though and is defending well.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Power's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Power is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hurst wants to stand up but Power is controlling him.
Hurst managing to control the position.

Power drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Power jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hurst wants to get back to his feet but Power is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hurst wants to sweep here but Power controlling him for the moment.
Power wants to control from the top but Hurst keeps moving.
Hurst wants to stand up but Power is controlling him.
Power stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hurst swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Good work by Power as he checks the leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Power forces Hurst back against the cage and clinches.

Power has Hurst pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Power pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hurst tumbling to the mat - Power dives into Hurst's guard.
Hurst keeping moving, preventing Power from controlling successfully.
Hurst is trying to keep Power in close.
Power engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Max Power wasn't active enough on the ground.

Hurst gets caught napping as Power dives in and scores a takedown. Hurst manages to retain guard.
Hurst looking to hit a scissor sweep but Power is one step ahead there.
Hurst being controlled here, momentarily.

Power trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurst is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Power might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hurst haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Max Power has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hurst misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hurst is breathing heavily.

Power has managed to clinch.

Power escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Power shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hurst napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hurst is trying to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Power scores with a couple of short elbows.

Power is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hurst knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Power dominated that round.

Hurst closes the distance and clinches.
Hurst can't break the clinch.

Hurst's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hurst tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Power paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Power rushes Hurst and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Power breaks from the clinch.
Hurst doesn't manage to clinch there - Power circles away.

Power scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Power wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hurst, who protects the arm well.

Power landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Power trying to control the position but Hurst is working away.

Power thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Power wants to control but Hurst is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Power decides to stand back up. Power steps back and let's Hurst get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hurst dives in for a single leg takedown but Power sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hurst wants to break free but Power has control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Power jumps guard and drags Hurst to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Power is pulling down on Hurst's head to control his posture.
Power looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hurst fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Power, pushing him back against the cage.
Power is pressed up against the cage. Hurst has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Power down to the mat. Power avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hurst misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Power feints and as Hurst raises his hands in defense, Power changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Power trying to control but Hurst is working from the bottom.
Power's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurst is trying to hold Power in close to prevent damage but Power has managed to pass into half guard.
Power is controlling the pace.
Power seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Power is thwarting Hurst's attempts to control the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hurst gets caught flat footed, as Power shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Power passes Hurst's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Power looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Power is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hurst has managed to free his arm - good work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Power is looking to advance position but Hurst won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Power showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Power keeps the fight on the outside.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Power.
Power tries to move to mount but Hurst blocks the move with his legs.
Power is looking to take a break and control but Hurst is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hurst tries to escape but Power is in control.
Hurst could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Power tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hurst's legs.
Hurst struggling a bit here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hurst stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Hurst is not content to let Power control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hurst is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Power has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hurst looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Power throws a head kick but Hurst moves out of range.
Power circles away from the clinch attempt

and Power counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hurst might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Power stops Hurst from getting back to his feet.
Hurst wants to get back to full guard.
Power seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Power is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hurst sees it coming and defends easily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Max Power hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Power shoots in and bounces Hurst off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hurst keeping moving, preventing Power from controlling successfully.
Power pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hurst is keeping the position for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hurst pulls Power in close to prevent any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Max Power comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Power has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
