The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Armstrong closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Miranda Souza did well to prevent Armstrong getting side control.
Armstrong wants to get back to his feet.

Armstrong seems to be looking for submissions.
Miranda Souza is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Armstrong's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Armstrong's back!
Miranda Souza really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Armstrong.
You can see the frustration on Armstrong's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Miranda Souza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Armstrong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gustavo Miranda Souza hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
