Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daichi Akio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Redjo Majkan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Majkan's choice of entrance music: Silent Gun. Daichi Akio is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akio keeps the fight on the outside.
Horrible takedown by Akio or perhaps it was just good defense by Majkan which made him look bad.
Majkan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Akio looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Majkan is fending him off so far but Akio persists. Nope, Majkan circles away and we're back to standing.
No joy there for Majkan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Majkan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Akio drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Majkan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Majkan digs a right hand into Akio's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Akio's gas tank.

Akio is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Majkan pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Majkan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Akio up against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Majkan has Akio pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Majkan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Akio tumbling to the mat - Majkan dives into Akio's guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Majkan working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Akio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Majkan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Majkan is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Akio manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Majkan manages to get himself to full guard.

Majkan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Akio doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Akio manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Akio wants to control from the top but Majkan keeps moving.

Majkan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Akio wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Majkan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Akio thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Majkan gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Akio is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Majkan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
