The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abedi with a nice cross.
Arthanier throws a chopping leg kick but Abedi manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Abedi tries to close the distance and clinch but Arthanier swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've been hearing reports that Abedi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Horrible takedown by Abedi or perhaps it was just good defense by Arthanier which made him look bad.

Abedi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Arthanier manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Arthanier has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Arthanier wants to sweep here but Abedi controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ramus Arthanier was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Abedi has Arthanier up against the cage in a clinch.
Arthanier pushes Abedi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Abedi trying to control the position but instead, Arthanier has worked for underhooks and has pushed Abedi into the cage.

Abedi gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abedi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Arthanier is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Arthanier lands with a nice body punch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Abedi shoots in for a takedown but Arthanier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Abedi shoots in but no luck this time.

That was a close second round but I would say that Papy Abedi will probably get the nod.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Arthanier lands a left hand that snaps the head of Abedi backwards.
The referee is keeping an eye on Arthanier - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Abedi tries to work over Arthanier's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Abedi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Arthanier gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Arthanier will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Abedi up against the cage.

Arthanier lands a nice shot to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Arthanier throws an elbow but it misses.
Arthanier tries to land knees in the clinch but Abedi avoids the damage to the body.
Abedi goes for a takedown attempt but Arthanier pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Arthanier lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Oh Abedi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Arthanier circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Abedi tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Arthanier wins by KO!

A less than humble Ramus Arthanier misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
