Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Ruden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parmalee Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sackett comes into a darkened arena with his song building. RATM: Know Your Enemy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Parmalee Sackett has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Parmalee Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruden ducks right into an uppercut from Sackett.


It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut.
Sackett cracks Ruden with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Sackett misses with a looping right.
Ruden's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sackett connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ruden scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ruden scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ruden throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ruden keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sackett.
Nice uppercut lands for Sackett. That snapped Ruden's head back.
Sackett steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ruden.
Sackett misses the shot to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Ruden has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Good leg kick by Ruden there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ruden takes a swing at Sackett's ribcage but misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Ruden misses the target.

Sackett fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ruden checks it well.

Sackett's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ruden under the eye.

Joe Ruden's cut is getting worse.
Ruden darts in looking for a takedown but Sackett gets double underhooks and turns Ruden into the cage.

Sackett blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A short body shot lands from Ruden as the two fighters clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ruden has a couple of punches blocked by Sackett.
Ruden has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sackett is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ruden blocks an uppercut.
Ruden is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Ruden tries a body shot but Sackett blocks it.
Sackett gets through Ruden's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Ruden doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Ruden is leaning against Sackett and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Sackett tries a body shot but Ruden blocks it.
Sackett is pressed up against the cage. Ruden has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sackett down to the mat. Sackett avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Ruden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ruden throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Sackett throws a leg kick but Ruden sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Sackett looks to score with a jab to the body but Ruden is just out of range.

Sackett throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ruden throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ruden throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Sackett misses with a body shot.
Ruden throws a lazy uppercut
and Sackett counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ruden's knee momentarily.
Ruden misses with a hook to the body
and Sackett counters with a low kick, right behind Ruden 's knee.
Sackett stalks Ruden and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ruden's face. Ruden staggers backwards, shaken.
Ruden checks a leg kick nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sackett shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ruden. Sackett does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parmalee Sackett dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Ruden's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ruden misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sackett.
Ruden tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Sackett clobbers Ruden with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Sackett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sackett buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sackett lands with an uppercut that bounces Ruden off the cage and back into range.


Joe Ruden's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ruden defending well as Sackett loads up on a big left hand.
Sackett is looking to slow Ruden down with leg kicks.
Sackett throws a hook but Ruden avoids it easily.
Ruden thows a body shot but no joy.
Parmalee Sackett seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A slow jab from Ruden misses its intended target.

Sackett pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ruden is out of range and Sackett settles back down.
Sackett fails to land with a series of punches.
Ruden scores with a nice right hand.
Sackett takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ruden misses with a lunging right hand

and Sackett counters with a crisp one two that drops Ruden! Sackett thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Ruden to his feet! Ruden is in big trouble!


Jeez, Joe Ruden's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joe Ruden's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Parmalee Sackett!

Parmalee Sackett very nearly forgot to thank Hellraiser FightGear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
