Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edson Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Amarce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Edson Garcia!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyle Amarce!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amarce closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garcia to the mat! Garcia manages to get full guard.
Amarce throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garcia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Amarce drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Amarce jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Amarce throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Amarce has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Amarce trying to control the position from guard on top but Garcia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Amarce is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Amarce distracts Garcia with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Garcia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Amarce wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Amarce makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Amarce got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Amarce has managed to get both his arms back between Garcia's legs - danger averted.
Amarce is looking to work some ground and pound but Garcia has wrist control.

Amarce drops back looking for a leg! Garcia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Garcia manages to kick Amarce off! Amarce jumps back into Garcia's guard.

Amarce is looking to work some ground and pound but Garcia has wrist control.

Amarce wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.
Garcia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Amarce on the ground.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Garcia moves into the clinch.
Garcia lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Amarce tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Garcia avoids it.
Amarce blocks the elbow strike.
Garcia works on Amarce's body with a couple of short punches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Garcia.
Garcia is struggling to control the position.
Garcia lands a nice knee to the body.
Garcia tries to land a knee to the head but Amarce blocks with his arms.
Amarce tries to circle away but Garcia has him pinned against the cage.

Amarce pulls guard.
Garcia looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Amarce looking for a sweep. Not yet Amarce, not yet.

Amarce is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Garcia is aware though and is defending well.

Amarce isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Garcia stacks Amarce on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Garcia!

Amarce regains half guard.
Garcia looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Amarce with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Garcia throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Garcia is trying to control the action in half guard but Amarce is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Garcia thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Amarce looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Garcia gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Amarce shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Garcia manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Amarce postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Garcia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Amarce, into his guard.
Amarce is breathing heavily.
Amarce has a closed guard, preventing Garcia from standing up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Amarce controls Garcia momentarily but Garcia frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Amarce looking for a sweep. Not yet Amarce, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Edson Garcia will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


No luck for Garcia with that takedown attempt.

Garcia fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Amarce, pushing him back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Amarce will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Amarce had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Garcia defends it easily.

Garcia is posturing up here but Amarce has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Garcia tries to roll out but it's too tight and Garcia has to tap! Slick submission there by Amarce!
