PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gimli Gloin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Cassius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gloin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ya'll Die. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gloin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Some wild striking there from Gloin.
Gloin thows a body shot but no joy.
Gloin lands a left and a right that sends Cassius crashing to the canvas! Gloin dives into mount looking to finish!

Cassius is rocked!

It looks like Maximus Cassius has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cassius defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gloin.
Cassius is still in real trouble! Can Gloin finish him?
Cassius working to try and regain half guard.
Cassius seems to have recovered his senses.
Cassius is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gloin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cassius on the ground.
Cassius sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Gloin wants to stand up but Cassius is controlling the position.
Cassius works his way to full guard. Good work.

Cassius looking for a sweep. Not yet Cassius, not yet.

Cassius looking for a guillotine here but Gloin defends easily.
Cassius looks gassed!

Gloin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gloin drops back looking for a leg! Cassius is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cassius manages to kick Gloin off! Gloin jumps back into Cassius's guard.

Gloin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gloin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gloin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cassius looking for a guillotine here but Gloin defends easily.

Cassius looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gloin trying to control the position from guard on top but Cassius is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cassius looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gloin preventing the sweep.
Cassius lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gloin!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gloin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Cassius wants to take Gloin's back but he can't do it this time.

Gloin is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gloin tries to hold on but Cassius postures up.

Cassius has control of Gloin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gloin regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gloin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Cassius has a closed guard, preventing Gloin from standing up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gloin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gloin connects with a jab.
Gloin looks to land a combination but Cassius avoids it well.
Gloin misses with a wild combination.
Gloin throws a looping overhand right but Cassius ducks down to avoid it.

Cassius drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Cassius has hold of Gloin's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gloin seems comfortable defending it but Cassius has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gloin is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gloin is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Cassius couldn't care less - he's delighted!
