Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mirrka Crovopic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Jon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Crovopic paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jon misses with a takedown attempt - Crovopic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Crovopic misses with an attempted mid kick.
Crovopic throws a series of punches but Jon moves out of range.
Jon wants to clinch up but Crovopic keeps it at a distance.
Crovopic swats away the attempt to clinch by Jon.
Crovopic throws a right and a left that both miss.
Crovopic misses with a series of wild punches.
Horrible takedown by Jon or perhaps it was just good defense by Crovopic which made him look bad.

and Crovopic counters with a slapping leg kick.

Jon closes the distance and clinches up with Crovopic, looking for a takedown. Jon pushes Crovopic against the cage but Crovopic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jon tries to pull guard but Crovopic holds him up against the cage and eventually Jon drops back down to his feet.
Crovopic prevents a takedown attempt there.
A frustrated look appears on Jon's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jon jumps guard but Crovopic stands there with Jon around his waist. Jon gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jon jumps guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jon is on top in guard.
Crovopic looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Jon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
My spies in Cozad The Island inform me that Jon has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Crovopic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jon on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
