The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nolan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Silva.
Nolan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Christian Nolan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nolan looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Silva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nolan.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nolan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Silva's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Nolan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Nolan.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nolan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
