Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rohan Khan!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan looks to score with a jab to the body but Mcgowan is just out of range.

Mcgowan shoots in and gets a takedown into Khan's guard.
Mcgowan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Khan wants to get back to his feet but Mcgowan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mcgowan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcelo Mcgowan.

Mcgowan gets a takedown into half guard.

Mcgowan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mcgowan wants to pass to mount but Khan is defending the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marcelo Mcgowan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Mcgowan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mcgowan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mcgowan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Khan on the ground.
The referee asks Mcgowan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mcgowan prefers to stall for the moment though.
Mcgowan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Khan wants to get back to his feet but Mcgowan drags him back down.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Khan tries to escape but Mcgowan is in control.

Mcgowan avoids the head kick by Khan.
Mcgowan wants to clinch.

Khan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcgowan, pushing him back against the cage.

Mcgowan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Khan throws a leg kick but Mcgowan checks it.

and Mcgowan moves into the clinch.

Khan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Khan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mcgowan controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mcgowan stops Khan from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Mcgowan counters with a big head kick but Khan shrugs it off.
Khan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mcgowan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mcgowan lands in his opponent's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Khan is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mcgowan is controlling him well.
Mcgowan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Mcgowan is looking to take a break and control but Khan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mcgowan is putting a hurting on Khan here, landing some big shots from side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mcgowan throws a strike aimed at the side of Khan's head but Khan avoids it well.
Mcgowan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcgowan is keen to just control but Khan is a slippery customer.

Mcgowan is really struggling to control Khan but he's trying to hold on to the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Marcelo Mcgowan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Khan is staying active underneath Mcgowan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Khan doesn't manage to clinch there - Mcgowan circles away.

Mcgowan is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Khan tries to kick Mcgowan off but Mcgowan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Mcgowan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcelo Mcgowan.

Mcgowan dives in and scores a takedown into Khan's guard.
Rohan Khan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Marcelo Mcgowan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Khan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcgowan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcgowan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcgowan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
