Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Sheppard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brain Death!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Death closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sheppard's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Death won't allow Sheppard to sweep him here.
Death stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sheppard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sheppard wants to sweep but no luck.
Sheppard pulls Death in close to prevent any damage.

Death stopping the sweep attempt from Sheppard.
Sheppard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sheppard pulls Death in to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Death swats away the attempt to clinch by Sheppard.
Sheppard swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Death shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Death was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Sheppard isn't going anywhere.
Sheppard tries to buck Death off but Death is having none of it.
Death tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Sheppard is not content to let Death control the position.
Sheppard is looking to reverse the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sheppard gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Death trying to control from half guard but Sheppard is working away.
Sheppard controlling the position well.
Sheppard regains full guard. Nicely done.

Death trying to control but Sheppard is working from the bottom.
Sheppard manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Death wants to hold on but Sheppard pushes him away.
Death looks winded!

BOOM! Sheppard connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Sheppard lands a big shot there that rocks Death but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Death really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sheppard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sheppard fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sheppard closes the distance and pushes Death back into the cage.
Sheppard wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sheppard lands an uppercut.
Death leaning his opponent against the cage.
Death is trying to push Sheppard away but Sheppard has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sheppard is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Death has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sheppard is trying to keep an underhook but Death manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Sheppard manages to get to full guard.
Sheppard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Death manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sheppard gets to his feet - Death follows without any prompting.

Death shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Death was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Sheppard tries to buck Death off but Death is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sheppard is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Death off and has taken his back!
Sheppard lands strikes to the head.

Death defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Sheppard's arms.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
What can Death do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Death trying to control the hands but Sheppard won't let him.

Death is trying to get back to his feet but Sheppard has full control of the position and if anything, Death has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Sheppard is landing with strikes. Death can't take much more of this.
Death covers up after that shot from Sheppard.
Sheppard controlling the position well here. Death rolled but Sheppard kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Sheppard lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Sheppard keeps control of the position easily here as Death tries to buck him off.
Sheppard has Death flattened out and is raining down punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Death is covering up but some of the strikes from Sheppard are getting through and doing damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Sheppard has taken the fight to the clinch.

Sheppard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Death throws a head kick that half lands.

Death feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Death wants to control from the top but Sheppard keeps moving.

Sheppard manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sheppard lands with some strikes.
Death takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sheppard breaks from Death's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Sheppard is landing with some decent strikes but Death is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The referee warns Death that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sheppard cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Sheppard lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Sheppard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sheppard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
