The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garza throws a body punch but Strasny moves out of range.

Strasny drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Strasny looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Garza tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Garza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Garza is trying to control Strasny's posture but Strasny avoids it.
Garza is looking to regain half guard here but Strasny keeps moving and retains side control.

Strasny is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Garza has escaped the position, nice work there.
Strasny throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Garza is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Garza fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Strasny manages to avoid it.

Strasny shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Garza is trying to defend but Strasny finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Strasny is nestled in close to Garza, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Strasny is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Garza defends it well.
Garza wants to stand back up but Strasny manages to pass into side control.

Garza is trying to control Strasny's posture but Strasny avoids it.

Strasny goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Garza rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Strasny's guard! Nice work there by Garza!
Strasny is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Garza is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Strasny is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Strasny doesn't manage to clinch there - Garza circles away.

Artur Strasny showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Garza with a poor takedown

and Strasny counters with a takedown into side control.

Strasny thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Strasny swings around for an armbar but Garza sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Strasny's guard.

Strasny looking for a guillotine here but Garza defends easily.
Strasny is trying to hold Garza in close to prevent damage but Garza has managed to pass into half guard.

Garza thows a huge punch but Strasny dodges it nicely.
Strasny has hold of Garza's hands but Garza slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Garza thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Strasny's head.

Strasny is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Garza jumps into side control!
