Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Stevenson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Cozart!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cozart throws out a loose jab but Stevenson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cozart pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cozart misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stevenson connects with a jab.


It looks like Josh Cozart has been cut.
Stevenson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cozart.
Stevenson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Stevenson moves into the clinch.
Cozart is looking to break free of the clinch but Stevenson has double underhooks.
Cozart wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cozart lands with a right to the head.
Cozart tries a knee to the head but Stevenson blocks it.

The fighters circling - Cozart throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cozart misses with an uppercut. Stevenson saw that one coming.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stevenson thows a huge punch but Cozart dodges it nicely.
Stevenson is just content to waste time from the top position. Cozart takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stevenson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stevenson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cozart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cozart thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Stevenson tries to free his leg and advance position but Cozart is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Stevenson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Stevenson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cozart, who protects the arm well.
Stevenson grinds an elbow into Cozart's temple.
Cozart is not content to let Stevenson control the position.
Stevenson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cozart sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Check out the look on Stevenson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Stevenson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Cozart turns into him and now he's in Stevenson's guard.

Cozart postures up in Stevenson's guard and throws a big left but Stevenson blocks it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cozart passes Stevenson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Stevenson has control of Cozart's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cozart regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Stevenson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cozart is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cozart has escaped and now he's on top!
Stevenson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cozart avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cozart wants to get up but he can't break Stevenson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stevenson scores with a jab. Cozart acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Stevenson scores with a hook to the body. Cozart takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Cozart takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stevenson throws a pinpoint strike between Cozart's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Cozart crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Stevenson scores a great knockout victory!
