Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daisu Miyagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Frost will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daisu Miyagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Frost!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Frost or perhaps it was just good defense by Miyagi which made him look bad.
Miyagi is looking to score with low kicks.
Miyagi throws a low kick, looking for Frost's leg but Frost calmly moves out of range.
Frost misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Frost fails in his attempt to clinch.
Frost checks a low kick from Miyagi.
Miyagi throws a head kick but Frost moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Miyagi. No joy for Frost on that attempt.
Daisu Miyagi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Frost.
Frost is looking to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Miyagi is looking to control Frost's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Miyagi avoid being mounted?
Frost is looking to take a break and control but Miyagi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Miyagi tries to get to full guard but Frost has control of the leg.

Frost prevents Miyagi from improving his position.

Frost wants to work for an arm triangle but Miyagi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Miyagi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Frost's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Frost's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Frost trying to control the action but Miyagi just sinks the hooks in.
Frost is covering up but some of the strikes from Miyagi are getting through and doing damage.
Frost can't escape the position.
Miyagi just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Frost just trying to survive but Miyagi is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Frost has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Miyagi.
Miyagi has the hooks in. Frost is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Miyagi is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Frost tries to roll but Miyagi sticks to his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is taking a good look at Frost as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Miyagi!
Frost has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Miyagi.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Miyagi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Frost walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Miyagi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miyagi tries to work over Frost's front leg with a kick but Frost checks it.
Frost shoots in and drives through. Miyagi sprawls well.

Frost tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miyagi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Miyagi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frost.

and Frost counters with a thumping low kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Miyagi blocks the leg kick.

Frost looks for a takedown but Miyagi sprawls well.

and Miyagi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Miyagi throws a nice inside leg kick.

Frost looks to clinch

Frost ducks right into an uppercut from Miyagi.

Nice uppercut lands for Miyagi. That snapped Frost's head back.
Miyagi throws a leg kick which misses Frost's front leg but catches the back leg as Frost tries to avoid it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Miyagi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Frost moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Miyagi swings for the body but Frost moves out of range.
Frost slips a straight right by Miyagi.
Daisu Miyagi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Miyagi thows a body shot but no joy.
Frost blocks a head kick by Miyagi.
Miyagi works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Miyagi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Some bone on bone action there as Frost checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Frost clinches but Miyagi breaks the clinch
and Miyagi counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Frost tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Miyagi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Frost's knee momentarily.
Miyagi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Frost backs up against the cage.
Miyagi lands with an uppercut that bounces Frost off the cage and back into rage.
Frost closes the distance but Miyagi moves to the side
and Miyagi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Miyagi moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Miyagi is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Miyagi throws a head kick that Frost semi-blocks.
Frost steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Miyagi. That one must have hurt.

Miyagi dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Frost. That did some damage!

Miyagi throws a wild body kick that Frost sees coming a mile off.
Miyagi throws a combination that misses
and Frost counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Miyagi looks to land a combination. Frost sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Frost is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Frost takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Miyagi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Frost moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Frost pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Miyagi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Miyagi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Frost looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Frost counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Frost wants to clinch but Miyagi slips to the side
and Miyagi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Miyagi counters with a nice leg kick.
Frost uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miyagi.

Miyagi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Frost takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Miyagi is looking to wear down Frost with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

and Frost counters with a nice double leg into side control. Miyagi won't be happy with that.

The ground and pound from Frost seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Frost goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Miyagi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Frost but great work by Miyagi.

James Frost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Miyagi lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Frost down.
Miyagi advances nicely into full mount.
Frost is working to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Daisu Miyagi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miyagi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
