The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Cortez drives through and clinches with Farro against the cage.
Farro tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cortez's elbow.
Farro jumps guard but Cortez stands there with Farro around his waist. Farro gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cortez is leaning against Farro and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Farro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cortez walks away with a smile on his face. Farro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Cortez has his foot on Farro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Farro works his way back into a safe position though.
Farro throws an elbow that misses. Cortez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Farro's guard. Nice move by Cortez!

Farro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Farro stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Cortez throws up his legs and catches Farro in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Farro tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Cortez! That came out of nowhere!
