Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Caliph James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anssi Manninen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Caliph James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anssi Manninen!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James rushes Manninen and presses him up against the cage.
James will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Manninen up against the cage.
James definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
James with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Anssi Manninen has been cut.
James gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
James unloads a knee to the mid-section.
James lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Manninen manages to pull guard.
James wants to get up but he can't break Manninen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Manninen striking off his back but it's not causing James any problems.

Manninen has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.
James controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James.

Caliph James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anssi Manninen.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee is keeping an eye on James - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
James lands a left hand.
James controlling the action here for a moment.
James lands a right hand that snaps the head of Manninen backwards.
James will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Manninen up against the cage.
James lands an elbow just above Manninen 's eye.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Manninen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables James to keep the fight standing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Manninen shoots and misses

and James counters by moving into the clinch.
Manninen tries to pull guard but James holds him up against the cage and eventually Manninen drops back down to his feet.

Manninen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Caliph James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anssi Manninen.
James is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

That has opened up Anssi Manninen's cut even more.
Manninen takes a knee to the side of the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James drops Manninen with a big knee straight up the middle! Manninen is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Manninen is still on wobbly legs! Can James finish him?
James throws a monster overhand right that drops Manninen! James follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Caliph James!
A very excited looking Caliph James rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
