PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krzysiek Zombi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Orsted (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christian Orsted told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krzysiek Zombi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Christian Orsted!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zombi swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Orsted gets caught flat footed, as Zombi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Zombi postures up.
Zombi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Zombi wants to stand and escape but instead Orsted has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Zombi wants to sweep here but Orsted controlling him for the moment.
Orsted tries to stand but Zombi is controlling from the bottom.
Zombi can't keep his opponent in guard - Orsted advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Zombi regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Orsted.

Zombi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Orsted's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Orsted's back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zombi keeps control of the position as Orsted tries to break free.
Orsted is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Zombi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Orsted escapes and throws Zombi's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Zombi is not content to let Orsted control the position.

Zombi is desperately trying to improve his position but Orsted has a good base and remains in mount.
Orsted scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Orsted is looking to stand but Orsted has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Orsted jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Zombi manages to avoid the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Orsted tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Orsted has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Christian Orsted will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Zombi wants to clinch up but Orsted keeps it at a distance.
Zombi throws a low kick but Orsted moves out of range easily.
Orsted fails in his attempt to clinch.
No luck for Zombi with that takedown attempt.

Zombi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Orsted to the mat! Orsted manages to get full guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Zombi wants to stand and escape but instead Orsted has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Christian Orsted.
Orsted shoots for a double leg takedown but Zombi sprawls well. He's pushed Orsted's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Zombi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Orsted is able to avoid easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Zombi.
Zombi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zombi looks for a takedown but Orsted sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krzysiek Zombi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zombi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Orsted pinned against the cage. Orsted gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Orsted fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zombi avoids it really well and circles away.
Orsted misses with a takedown attempt - Zombi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Orsted keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Orsted lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Horrible takedown by Zombi or perhaps it was just good defense by Orsted which made him look bad.
Zombi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Zombi with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Orsted to score with a decent uppercut.

Orsted gets tackled into the cage by Zombi. Zombi maintains the clinch.
Orsted tries to break free but Zombi pushes him back against the cage.
Zombi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Orsted tries to land a knee to the head but Zombi blocks with his arms.
Orsted wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Orsted changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zombi fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Orsted shoots in looking for a takedown. Zombi tries to sprawl out of it but Orsted keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zombi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Zombi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Orsted defends it well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Krzysiek Zombi will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Orsted manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zombi manages to get himself to full guard.
Orsted wants to pass the guard but Zombi is keeping the position.
Zombi wants to get back to his feet but Orsted is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Christian Orsted has got the better of the ground game so far.

Zombi looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Orsted has picked Zombi up and slammed him! Zombi can't keep hold of the triangle and Orsted manages to pass to side control!

Orsted is looking to take a break and control but Zombi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Orsted has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Zombi drives through with a takedown into Orsted's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Orsted fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Zombi is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Zombi tries to hold on but Orsted postures up.

Orsted avoids the head kick by Zombi.
Zombi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Zombi tries to close the distance and clinch but Orsted swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Orsted shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zombi as he jumps to the side.
Zombi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Christian Orsted.
I think Orsted has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
