PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Knott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sullivan has chosen I'm Shipping Up To Boston as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Jake Knott has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jake Knott seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Knott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan tries to work over Knott's front leg with a kick but Knott checks it.
Knott fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Knott is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sullivan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Knott looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Knott darts in looking for a takedown but Sullivan gets double underhooks and turns Knott into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Knott. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knott blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sullivan throws a head punch that misses.

Knott escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Knott looks to land a body kick but Sullivan moved away.
Knott fails with a takedown attempt.
Knott throws a body kick that misses.
Knott takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Knott takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sullivan checks a leg kick.
Sullivan checks a low kick from Knott.
Knott is looking to score with low kicks.

Knott shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sullivan as he jumps to the side.
Jake Knott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sullivan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Knott shoots in for a double leg but Sullivan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sullivan throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Knott.


It looks like Jake Knott has been cut.
Sullivan avoids the head kick by Knott.
Knott tries a head kick but it misses.
Knott takes one on the button.
Knott shoots in for a takedown but Sullivan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sullivan throws a head kick but Knott moves out of range.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Knott lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sullivan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sullivan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sullivan leaves Knott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sullivan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Knott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Knott lands a leg kick that knocks Sullivan off balance momentarily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sullivan throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Sullivan scores with a leg kick.
Knott throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sullivan with a hook.
Knott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sullivan.
Sullivan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sullivan scores with a nice body kick.
Knott shoots for a takedown but Sullivan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Knott is breathing heavily.
Sullivan bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Knott's head backwards.
Knott throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sullivan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Knott.
Adam Sullivan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Knott tries to clinch but Sullivan moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Sullivan.


Knott is rocked!
Knott has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sullivan.
Oh Knott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Knott blocks a head kick by Sullivan.
Knott looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Sullivan misses with a head kick.
Knott seems to have got his legs back now.

Knott has closed the distance and engaged Sullivan in a clinch.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Knott. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Knott wants to break free but Sullivan has control.

Sullivan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sullivan throws a sloppy head kick and Knott moves out of range easily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Knott, right into the meat.
Knott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sullivan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Knott somewhat.
Knott throws a front kick aimed at Sullivan's knee but Sullivan avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knott avoids a kick to the body.
Knott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sullivan but Sullivan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sullivan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sullivan blocks a low kick nicely.
Sullivan has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Knott fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sullivan chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Knott throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Knott, right into the meat.
Sullivan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Knott is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sullivan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sullivan throws a body punch but Knott moves out of range.
Sullivan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Sullivan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jake Knott's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sullivan lands with a nice body punch.
Sullivan throws a leg kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
A head kick misses from Knott.

Knott shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Knott showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Knott looking for a submission but Sullivan manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Knott trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Knott stands up from Sullivan's guard - Knott perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sullivan is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Knott looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sullivan.
Knott misses with a low kick.
Sullivan throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Knott looks to land a body kick but Sullivan moved away.
Sullivan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sullivan wants it to stay on the feet.
Sullivan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Knott is looking to slow Sullivan down with leg kicks.

A head kick misses from Knott.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fight stays on the outside here - Knott looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sullivan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Knott has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sullivan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

and Sullivan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Sullivan throws a nice outside leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sullivan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Knott takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Sullivan is looking to slow Knott down with leg kicks.
Sullivan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sullivan.
Knott throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Sullivan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Sullivan punishes Knott's body with a nice straight punch.
Sullivan throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Knott is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Sullivan lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Knott tries for a takedown but Sullivan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sullivan lands a big uppercut and Knott crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Knott looks OK. Sullivan waves Knott back to his feet!
Sullivan keeps Knott at a distance using the push kick.
Are you kidding me?! Sullivan ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Knott clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!

Our winner, Adam Sullivan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
